6 Degrees Group is recruiting for an Unapplied Cash / Credits Specialist in Marietta, GA. This is a 6-month contract cleanup project focused on clearing a backlog of unapplied cash and customer credits, some dating back to 2022 or earlier. The goal is to resolve everything from 2025 and prior before December so it meets state unclaimed property deadlines. You’ll report to the AR Manager and work closely with the accounting team, researching each item, reaching out to customers, and getting the balance down. It’s a great fit for someone who likes to dig into the details and get to an answer, with a hybrid schedule (Monday through Wednesday on site, Thursday and Friday remote).

Responsibilities:

• Research unapplied cash and credit balances, including backup and credit memos, using a balance list that’s refreshed twice a week
• Contact customers by email and phone to confirm what the funds relate to and that no projects are still pending
• Coordinate internally to confirm there’s no open work or billing, then apply cash, issue refunds, or prepare items for state unclaimed property filings
• Help with light collections and with running off legacy AR as newly acquired locations migrate onto the system

Qualifications:

• Strong AR or cash application experience
• Analytical, dig-in mindset and comfortable chasing down answers on your own
• Comfortable reaching out to customers directly by email and phone
• Escheatment or unclaimed property experience, multi-entity experience, and strong Excel skills are a plus
