A client of 6 Degrees Group is hiring for an Accounts Payable Specialist in Marietta, GA. Our client is an established company with a corporate office and multiple branch locations, and they need an experienced AP pro to support the team through mid-2027. This is a contract role running through June 2027, with about two months of hands-on training up front and a chance to extend if business needs call for it. Youd be the link between corporate and branch AP, keeping invoices, vendor payments, and month-end support on track. Its a hybrid schedule with two days a week in the office, so a dedicated home workspace is a must for the remote days.
Responsibilities:
- Review invoices for proper documentation and approval before payment
- Prepare garnishment checks and payroll deductions from payroll reports and employee card purchases
- Serve as the go-to contact between corporate and branch AP, and resolve vendor questions and discrepancies
- Support monthly close with account analyses, and keep AP reports, spreadsheets, and files up to date
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred)
- 3 to 5 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfortable with accounting software and ERP systems
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong communication skills and flexibility for occasional overtime at month-end and year-end
