One of our clients is hiring for a Senior Accountant in Duluth, GA. Our client is a well-established transportation and logistics company with a long track record of growth and a strong internal culture built around collaboration and performance. This role owns the general accounting function, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and the books stay audit-ready. The Senior Accountant will lead month-end close activities, strengthen internal controls, and partner with business leaders to provide financial insights that support strategic decisions. Responsibilities:
- Complete month-end close tasks, including journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Review, investigate, and correct discrepancies in financial entries and reports
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial data integrity, including SOX compliance
- Mentor junior accounting staff and partner with business leaders to deliver financial analysis supporting decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience, with public accounting experience preferred
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting systems and automated close tools
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
