Our client is a commercial real estate company with a growing portfolio of managed properties and a collaborative accounting team. This role owns the full monthly close cycle for assigned properties, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting. It’s a great fit for an accountant with a solid general ledger foundation who wants exposure to real estate accounting and the variety that comes with a multi-entity environment. Perks include a WFH day on Wednesdays (after training period) and early Fridays during the summer.
Responsibilities:
- Own month-end and year-end close procedures, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet analysis for assigned properties
- Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, and construction WIP ledgers
- Assist with annual budget preparation and input into Yardi
- Serve as point of contact for third-party property managers and assist with annual tenant CAM, tax, and insurance reconciliations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2–3 years of accounting experience; real estate or property accounting background preferred
- Proficiency in Yardi or a comparable property accounting system
- Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting, GAAP, and monthly close processes
