We are seeking a detail‑oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. This role supports day‑to‑day accounting operations including general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and month‑end close activities. The ideal candidate will also assist with journal entry preparation, variance analysis, and ongoing process improvements to ensure accurate and timely financial results. This is a full‑time, on‑site position offering competitive compensation and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end close, including accruals, prepaid schedules, and financial statement preparation.
- Analyze budget‑to‑actual variances and provide explanations to management.
- Maintain organized financial records and support internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with process improvements, system updates, and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
