Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide direction, leadership, support to staff accountants, work closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller, and other departments
  • Coordinate the monthly closing process including all required journal entries and analytical review of financial statements
  • Assist with non-standard transactions (accruals, acquisitions, etc)
  • Analyze account trends to foresee any potential issues
  • Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate financial management reports
  • Assist in preparing, coordinating, and responding to annual and interim audits
  • Assist with the preparation of financial information for the company’s tax returns
  • Assist in reconciling accounts as well as resolving accounting discrepancies and irregularities on a timely basis
  • Seek opportunities to standardize and automate processes
  • Lead the team in optimizing the ERP system, along with other financial systems as appropriate, and create and execute efficient processes
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Strong understanding of operational finance and US GAAP
  • Creative problem solver with outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Strong quantitative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight in the completion of projects
  • Experience in healthcare industry preferred but not required
  • Experience with Great Plains is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and team-management skills
  • High integrity, independent and individually motivated

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or economics
  • 5+ years experience performing accounting responsibilities at high volume private organizations
  • 2 years prior supervisory experience required
  • Public accounting with a Big 4 or National firm is a plus
  • CPA required
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity
  • Possess a track record of success working and influencing a fast-paced, multi-unit / multi-region organization at all levels.
  • Private equity-backed or high growth company experience preferred.
